What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS Analyst position at SBCTA?
Under general supervision, performs technical and professional duties in the production of maps and data analysis, transportation planning and transportation modeling in support of SBCTA programs and subregional planning efforts; develops, maintains and administers geographic information systems (GIS) database and transportation modeling software, and integration of other applications with the GIS systems; and performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and / or Experience :
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be :
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in GIS, geography, computer science, transportation, urban planning or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in performing GIS analysis and / or transportation modeling.
Licenses and Certifications :
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver?s License and proof of automobile liability insurance by time of appointment.
