Job Overview
The Chiller Maintenance Technician joining this rapidly growing team will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial/industrial chiller systems. This role ensures optimal performance of cooling systems, minimizes downtime, and adheres to safety regulations and standards. The technician will work closely with other maintenance staff and assist in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on chiller systems, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
- Diagnose and repair chiller malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant issues.
- Monitor chiller performance and maintain logs of operational data.
- Assist upgrading existing units.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding environmental safety and practices.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members on larger projects and repairs.
- Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Completion of a technical training program in HVAC, refrigeration, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in chiller maintenance or a similar role is required.
- Must also have EPA Universal and other applicable licenses and certifications, have a valid driver’s license in good standing, and ability to pass background check and drug screen to company’s satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of chiller systems and HVAC principles.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
