Assembly and Logistics Manager
SBFI – North America, the Global Leader in providing specialized Trading Desk and Console
Furniture, is seeking a qualified person for the role of Assembly and Logistics Manager for our
Black Mountain, North Carolina Facility.
This position is responsible for managing activities related to the timely and quality assured assembly and shipping of highly engineered furniture, including manpower and schedules. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
Essential Functions
Assembly Manager
- Manages all aspects of product assembly on a day-to-day basis.
- Manages and coordinates scheduling and performance of assembly department labor, including holding assembly team accountable for performance by providing clear performance goals and direction based upon schedules.
- Works with Operations and Sales departments to ensure production schedules are met.
- Coordinates with Operation, Purchasing Manager and Inventory Manager to assure inventory is stocked as needed to meet production schedules.
- Assists with Inventory control as needed
- Ensures quality control through duration of assembly process.
Logistics Manager
- Works with Operations, Sales and Installation to create installation schedules based upon assembly constraints.
- Coordinates with vendors and Installation Department to ensure finished product is shipped out according to installation schedules.
- Responsible for organizing storage of finished product in orderly fashion to expedite shipping and minimize loading.
Essential Functions
- Requires a high level of organization and ability to prioritize.
- Must be able to meet work in a rapidly evolving, highly schedule-oriented environment.
- Must have solid communication skills and the ability to manage and motivate employees.
- Must be goal oriented with the ability to modify internal schedules to meet external commitments.
- Must be able to work with different department to achieve production goals
- Must have the ability to read/understand shop drawing print diagrams
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended period of time
- Must have the dexterity/strength to work with materials necessary for product assembly
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required, BA/BS or equivalent secondary education preferred
- 5 years’ experience in production (manufacturing or assembly) roles required.
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
