Fabric & Trims/Raw Materials
- Research and develop new fabrics for all RTW categories excluding denim. Inclusive of yarns, leathers and trims to suit the needs of both Production and Design.
- Place raw material and trim orders for dvpm, sms, pps.
- Manage and process invoices related to raw material and trim purchases, for dvlpm, sms, pps by the due date.
- Approve all fabrics from the development stage for production or source and approve an alternative in a timeline workable for production.
- Handoff clear pricing, delivery info and correspondence with mills to production. Update and maintain fabric information in shared WIP.
- Work with production/patternmaking to confirm accurate yields and marker information.
- Negotiate lead times and mill stock availability and manage pre-bookings, stock positions and trim stock where needed.
- Partner with teams on production fabric procurement
- Communicate fabric and trim delivery and any changes to production team, maintain delivery with mills and work with logistics to ensure timely delivery.
- Work with International Production manager to manage PD for Made in China and Made in India products: I.e. sweaters, tees, woven shirts, non-denim bottoms. Manage price targets and shared WIP file. Project and analyze MSRP and margin through the development cycle.
- Confirm international factory costs before line opening. Work cross-functionally with Domestic PD manager on domestic and made in Italy products.
- Negotiate or provide solutions to costing that is out of desired price points in a timely manner. Confirm MSRP's (all product categories) with management signoff.
- Assist production teams with in-office support, i.e., trim,
- shipping samples, communication as needed.
- Support production department with updating information and analysis as needed.
- Create and maintain seasonal linesheets to coordinate costing and development between all teams.
- Create and update accurate cost sheets.
- Create and update style master sheets.
- Responsible for style upload, maintenance, and accuracy in RLM/NetSuite, etc. (All product categories).
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Development, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in product development with a strong focus on fabric sourcing and finishes - within luxury or elevated designer brands.
- Extensive knowledge of fabrics, trims, finishes, and garment construction techniques.
- Proven experience working with global suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various departments.
- Highly creative with a strong eye for design and detail, combined with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in sourcing and product development.
- Proficient in relevant software tools - MUST be excel savvy (RLM/NetSuite is a plus).
Salary : $85,000
