Job Summary:
The Operational Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of the team and day-to-day functions of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, enforces internal controls, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Oversee the full AP cycle, including invoice processing, approval workflows, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices while managing cash flow and optimizing payment terms.
- Maintain vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and handle escalations.
- Enforce internal controls and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the AR function, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and cash application.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, analyze aging reports, and implement effective credit and collection strategies.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address billing discrepancies and customer disputes.
- Develop and maintain reporting tools to track AR performance and improve cash flow.
Payroll:
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Stay current with tax laws, wage regulations, and benefit deductions to ensure payroll compliance.
- Work with HR to maintain employee payroll records, process new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
- Implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Leadership & Process Improvement:
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP, AR, and payroll processes, leveraging technology and automation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, audits, and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 5 years of accounting experience (ideally some experience in a leadership role)
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
