Position Summary


Are you passionate about helping communities recover and thrive after disasters? As SBP’s Senior Program Manager of Nonprofit Partnerships, you’ll support the mission of the Share Program to equitably distribute and disseminate SBP’s disaster recovery resources via a curriculum of material to local nonprofit organizations across SBP’s target states. This position will work closely with grantee organizations to directly coach, surface, and remove operational barriers in order to increase the output of each. This position will also work directly with nonprofit partners to assess needs, design strategies, and implement solutions to address challenges related to operations, program development, and organizational capacity-building.


SBP’s Share Program understands that disaster recovery begins and ends at the local level. The Share Program leverages SBP’s nearly two decades of experience to equip long-term locally-led disaster recovery organizations with the tools to efficiently manage their local recovery. By sharing resources SBP has honed over nearly two decades, the Share Program facilitates a more predictable, efficient and prompt recovery - ultimately allowing residents to recover faster.

Responsibilities 

Project Management 

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful delivery of services.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and ensure projects are executed within scope and resources.
  • Manage grantee expectations, ensuring clear communication, adherence to timelines, and achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Oversee National Grant Program
  • Understand and support the technical requirements from the application to grant closure process. 

Capacity Building

  • Provide training, workshops, and resources to strengthen the internal capabilities of partner organizations, including staff, volunteers, and boards. 
  • Help grantees build or improve their infrastructure, systems, and processes to support long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within partner organizations.
  • Manage Local Capacity Building Grant Program
  • Understand how to effectively use client services, construction and volunteer services efficiently and surface challenge areas in each area.


Coaching

  • Lead and manage engagements with non-profit partners, providing expertise on strategy, operations, program design, and organizational development.
  • Conduct assessments of program needs and challenges, offering insights and actionable recommendations based on SBP’s experience.
  • Develop and present customized solutions to increase partner impact
  • Support partners in implementing recommended changes and strategies, offering ongoing guidance and support.
  • Adapting and implementing the Toyota Production System (lean business strategies) to reduce waste and increase operational output of grantees


Evaluation and Reporting 

  • Maintain internal Share Program data platforms and integrity 
  • Regularly update and maintain monthly and annual Share Program metrics, key performance indicators, goals, and scorecards
  • Monitor and update grantee data tracking systems to memorialize grantee progress
  • Collaborate across SBP’s departments to ensure organizational goals and key performance indicators are met. 
  • Track grantee progress and measure success against established outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for partners and internal stakeholders on project results, insights, and recommendations.


Business Development 

  • Participate in networking activities, conferences, and industry events to stay informed on trends and build relationships within the non-profit sector.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Emergency Management, Disaster Preparedness) and/or 7 - 10 years of experience working in disaster recovery at the local level. Experience collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience overseeing grant programs, including application review and compliance monitoring and experience in developing and leading training sessions, particularly in disaster response or related fields is preferred. 
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, newsletters, internal communications, and public speaking. Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously grant management, program administration or operations. 
  • Abilities: Strong relationship-building abilities to work with grantees, partners, and internal teams, with an ability to respectfully provide feedback. Strong understanding of the grant lifecycle and regulatory requirements is preferred. 
  • Alignment: Passion for SBP’s mission and the resilience to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools such as Salesforce, Google-Suite, Canva, Adobe, and Zoom
  • Flexibility: Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
  • Compliance: Ability to pass criminal background check
