As SBP’s Volunteer Manager, you will oversee the recruitment and placement of volunteers on home repair and rebuild projects. The Volunteer Manager will provide daily oversight to a team of 1-3 AmeriCorps Members who will lead volunteer recruitment and coordination- ensuring a continuous pipeline of volunteer support and positive volunteer experience. SBP’s network of volunteers not only assist us in rebuilding homes but also provide funding for our operations and raise awareness of ongoing needs. The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for implementing an effective fundraising and communications strategy with volunteers, philanthropic and corporate sponsors, and the general public to further our mission to shrink the time between disaster and recovery.

Responsibilities
- Implement overall goals and objectives for the SBP Tampa Volunteer Department, commensurate with the Executive Director’s vision.
- Lead, develop and retain 1-3 AmeriCorps members
- Cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with external partners, donors, and stakeholders through individual relationship development, engaging in public events, and representing SBP within community forums.
- Implement an effective volunteer recruitment strategy to meet organizational needs.
- Execute communication strategy, emphasizing enduring need, to increase engagement of past, current, and future volunteers via effective pre-arrival communication; engaging orientation and introduction to the organization upon arrival; a nuanced follow up depending upon the volunteer's interest after the service experience.
- Ensure quality experience for every SBP volunteer, providing immediate support and follow up communication as necessary if problems arise during the volunteer trip.
- Work with the Executive Director and SBP’s Development Department to plan and implement donor development strategies
- Maintain accurate electronic volunteer records
- Provide initial and ongoing training for AmeriCorps members
- Provide additional support to Executive Director and the program as needed

Requirements
- Education & Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in program or nonprofit management. Volunteer program management experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success with recruitment of volunteers and launching new volunteer initiatives. Comfortable running fundraising initiatives.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail.
- Abilities: Ability to train AmeriCorps members
- Alignment: Passion for SBP’s mission and the resilience to work in fast-paced environments.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace. Experience with Salesforce a plus
- Flexibility: Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Compliance: Ability to pass a criminal background check. Valid Driver’s License
