Position Summary:
The Director of Admissions is responsible for overseeing the admissions process for prospective clients seeking treatment at our residential facility. This role ensures a smooth and compassionate intake experience, works closely with clinical and administrative teams, and develops strategic initiatives to optimize admissions operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or a related field, with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Admissions Management & Client Coordination
- Oversee and manage the admissions process from inquiry to intake, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and families.
- Conduct initial screenings and assessments to determine clinical appropriateness for admission.
- Coordinate with clinical and medical teams to ensure proper placement and individualized treatment planning.
- Maintain a compassionate, client-centered approach while gathering necessary personal and medical information.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead, train, and support the admissions team, ensuring high performance and adherence to best practices.
- Work closely with marketing, business development, and clinical teams to align admissions strategies with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with legal and ethical admission standards.
Operational & Strategic Development
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in admissions.
- Analyze admissions data to identify trends and optimize outreach and conversion strategies.
- Stay informed on industry trends, insurance requirements, and regulatory changes affecting admissions.
Insurance & Financial Coordination
- Assist clients and families with verifying insurance benefits and understanding financial obligations.
- Collaborate with billing and finance teams to streamline authorization processes.
Community & Referral Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, including hospitals, therapists, and community organizations.
- Represent the facility at conferences, networking events, and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, healthcare administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in an admissions, intake, or leadership role within a behavioral health, substance use, or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, insurance verification, and behavioral health assessments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of empathy and professionalism.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and CRM tools preferred.
