What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Physician position at SBT?
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical examinations, diagnoses, treatments, minor procedures, and health education, adhering to our clinical protocols.
- Focus on disease prevention and health promotion while delivering high-quality care.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding preventive care, diagnoses, treatments, and prescribed medications.
- Refer patients for specialized services, labs, and tests as required.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with state regulations and clinic policies.
- Help develop and implement new protocols and procedures to improve health services.
- Participate in the planning and rollout of new clinical programs, incorporating technology to improve patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Provide in-service training for clinical staff in coordination with the Chief Medical Officer.
- Engage in peer reviews in alignment with our policies.
- Support the implementation and operation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Practice Management (EPM) systems.
- Consult and collaborate with the medical staff, offering backup for mid-level practitioners as needed.
- Provide consultation and chart reviews for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, ensuring timely communication through various electronic channels.
- Adapt to flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage correspondence with hospitals and community organizations related to patient care.
- Participate in staff conferences and continuous quality assurance programs.
- Supervise medical interns and students, providing necessary clinical guidance.
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited residency program.
- Active California Medical License.
- Board Eligible or Certified in Family Practice (must become Board Certified within two years of employment if Board Eligible).
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Registration.
- Current Basic Life Support (ACLS) certification from an AHA-approved provider.
- Pre-employment criminal background check clearance.
Preferred:
- Minimum of one year of directly related experience.
- Experience in community or public health.
- Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish or Mandarin.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid California Medical License.
- DEA Registration.
- Current CPR certification (AHA approved).
- Board Eligible or Certified in Family Practice (must be Board Certified within two years if Board Eligible).
- Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation.
