Position Summary
The Clinical Program Director is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of clinical services across the agency’s mental health and substance use disorder programs. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care that aligns with agency goals, licensing requirements, and best practices in behavioral health treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and oversight of all mental health and substance use treatment programs, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and supportive services.
Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team of licensed clinicians, case managers, peer support specialists, and interns.
Ensure programs meet all regulatory, accreditation, and funding compliance standards (e.g., DHCS, CARF, Medi-Cal, etc.).
Oversee the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
Monitor program performance, clinical outcomes, and client satisfaction, utilizing data to drive improvements.
Facilitate regular clinical supervision, staff trainings, and case consultations to support staff development and clinical excellence.
Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and grant writing to support agency growth and sustainability.
Serve as a liaison with community partners, referral sources, and other stakeholders to strengthen collaborative relationships.
Stay current on best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes in behavioral health.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
Current, unrestricted clinical licensure in the state of CA (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or ACSW, AMFT, APCC).
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented services.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience working in or with non-profit organizations and culturally diverse populations is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Familiarity with grant-funded programs and outcome reporting.
