SBW Constructors LLC is seeking an experienced Trackhoe Operator for utility crews to join our dynamic team. As a Trackhoe Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to perform excavation, trenching, and grading, specifically for underground utility work, including water and sewer installations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with trench boxes, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency. Occasional weekend work is required. Key Responsibilities
- Operate trackhoes and other heavy equipment for excavation, trenching, grading, and underground utility installations (water/sewer).
- Read and interpret blueprints, site layouts, and grade stakes to ensure precise digging and placement.
- Work safely around underground utilities, following all safety protocols.
- Experience installing and working with trench boxes for safety compliance (Required)
- Perform daily equipment inspections to identify and report maintenance needs.
- Load and unload materials as needed for jobsite efficiency.
- Assist with general labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and project managers.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating trackhoes in a utility-focused construction setting.
- Strong understanding of grading, trenching, and excavation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and grade stakes.
- Familiarity with working around underground utilities.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and best practices.
- Experience installing and working with trench boxes.
- Good physical condition and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Preferred but not required: OSHA certification, excavation safety training, fall protection certification.
