What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Mental Health Respite Provider position at SC Custom Respite Care, LLC?
We are hiring for January 2025. Candidates must have knowledge and experience with Mental Health and understand of client’s behavior. Our clients are on the Autism Spectrum, along with ADHD, RAD, Defiant, Outbursts, but they hug us too. We have an immediate respite provider opening for individuals with a background working with children and youth with mental health. We are looking for a good fit and someone who will get down to a child’s level and play and not be afraid to sit on the floor next to the child; engaging in the child’s interest. We are seeking for a caring person to provide respite for children and youth in the client’s home and going on fun outings such as the zoo, museum, library, out to eat, while making a positive difference in the children’s lives. This is part-time position and very rewarding. This is an ideal position for an individual needing part time work or a retired individual wanting a flexible part-time job. This is an opportunity to play, have fun and show kindness and good will toward children and teenagers.
Duties are to have meaningful conversations about trust, relationships, being honest, and positive life situations. Help build relationships with the child’s parents, siblings and school friends. Responsibilities also include wisdom to direct and redirect client with various life skills and non-preferred activities such as fix their bed, tidy up their room, do their laundry, brush their teeth, preparing light meals and assisting client with school homework. Our respite providers enjoy doing preferred activities with our clients such as going for a walk; going to the library, going to the park, McDonald's, Starbuck, the mall, creating crafts, baking cookies; going fishing, playing basketball and developing a long-term, trusting relationship.
This position is very gratifying for an active person and someone who enjoys creating purposeful growth in children, youth and teenagers.
Applicant Requirements:
· Minimum 18 years of age
· Have a High School Diploma or GED
· Passion for Caregiving

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with daily activities which may include teaching good hygiene, exercise, homework, breathing and calming techniques, etc.
· Assist with conversations to enhance meaning and purpose in life
· Motivate client with sports, hobbies, social activities and winsomely interact with the client encouraging them and lifting them up and helping them to see value in themselves and others
. Relationship building is vital for these children to succeed in life. We want to encourage the children to engage with others; develop friends and relate to their parent, siblings and us!

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $26.00 to $27.00 per hour / $1.00 raise after 90 days
