Summer 2025 Intern - SOC Audit

Our summer internship program provides students with hands-on professional experience, networking opportunities, and access to SC&H fun while honing essential skills for early career success. For 10-weeks spanning June to August, our interns work on diverse client projects and receive guided mentorship in one of our many unique service lines. Our internship is in-person at one of our offices 4x a week with an average work week of 30-32 hours.

About our SOC Audit Practice

A System and Organization Controls (SOC) report verifies that a company's service organization is following industry standards, helping companies gain a competitive edge, streamline business operations, and harness future relationships. As a licensed CPA firm, our auditors help our clients maximize efficiency throughout the SOC audit process and gain compliance.

As a qualified CPA firm, we take pride in working with organizations that have unique objectives, competing priorities, and specific constraints—irrespective of the industry. As such, our experienced auditors can address compliance mandates for reporting on service organization controls within many industries, including but not limited to data hosting and backup services, SaaS, managed service providers, financial services, and medical claim processing.

As a member of our SOC Audit team, you will:

• Learn comprehension and application of SOC1 and SOC2 internal control compliance frameworks.
• Use audit software to review audit support and document testing over a control activity.
• Provide clients with cybersecurity and financial reporting internal control services, including recommendations for industry best practices.
• Complete tasks as instructed; follow direction and have the ability to self-review work.
• Work in a team setting and communicate status / results of completed audit procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems (preferred), Accounting or Finance
• GPA of 3.2 or above
• Previous successful business experience; Public Accounting internship preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to produce an outstanding work product or deliverable
• Reliable transportation to our Sparks, MD and/or client sites

Salary & Benefits
The rate for this position is $30 per hour. Salary offers are made based on a variety of candidate specific factors such as candidate's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.
