Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Lab Technician to join the team, based out of our Scottsdale, Arizona lab facility. This is a hybrid position meaning that beyond the daily lab duties, this position will also be tasked with gathering and transporting samples and relevant documentation safely and securely to the Laboratory for processing. Must have real world working experience, and be comfortable working with cannabis/hemp products.
Seeking applicants who already reside in the Scottsdale, Arizona region.
This position will require sample pickup and delivery tasks, requiringall applicants selected for an interview to provide a current DMV printout showing a clean driving record of at least the past 6 years.
Preference will be given to those applicants with at least 1-year of previous experience in a delivery route driving position.
Schedule: This will be a full-time non-exempt hourly position. The schedule example will be Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Applicants with schedule flexibility will be preferred.
Pay Rate: The hourly pay rate for this non-exempt position will be $20.00.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 25 years of age, required for all driving positions.
- A minimum of 1-year previous real world lab work environment experience.
- Prior experience and ability shown to follow a scheduled route.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Full use of upper and lower extremities to drive a company vehicle for extended periods of time.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
- Intake samples and prepare them for sample testing, including labeling, weighing, photographing, and organizing samples.
- Proper use of equipment such as analytical balances, pipettes, sonicators, syringes, etc.
- Sample homogenization.
- Performs cleaning procedures of the laboratory as needed or requested by the lab supervisor.
- Maintains equipment in proper working order and maintains a clean work environment.
- Completes all required training in a timely manner and maintains training on updated policies and procedures.
- Practices safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health and environmental rules and regulations.
- Helps to maintain laboratory inventory and properly labels and stores chemicals and supplies.
- Organizes and prepares reagents and other supplies for testing needs.
- Follows good documentation practices, data integrity principles, and safety behaviors.
- Promotes a professional company image through exemplary customer relationship skills.
- Strives to maximize route efficiency.
- Maintains records of samples and transportation data per relevant procedure.
- Safely transports samples to the laboratory when needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as delegated by the Supervisor or Lab Management.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of full-time route driving experience is strongly preferred.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and be an effective communicator, work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education:Two (2) years of college education (preferably in a scientific discipline) OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of previous work experience.
