What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Advocate position at SC SHARE?
SC SHARE is presently looking to hire One (1) Peer Supporter to serve Williamsburg County
Job Description: (This is a Highly independent, Remote, Community Based Position with 0% office reporting)
Under direct supervision the Peer Supporter would be responsible for the county they are hired to serve. The Peer Supporter would be tasked with creating and nurturing relationships with service agencies in their counties while simultaneously providing direct Peer Support services in their assigned county. Potential Hire would be required to work directly with community members seeking Peer Support and report basic demographic information, services provided to the Peer, Peer progress, Peer outcomes, administer quarterly Peer surveys, and remotely attend weekly staff meetings.
Potential hire may also be tasked with SC SHARE presentations, administering online Peer Groups, attending local community events, and other duties relevant to Peer Support Role.
This position is highly independent, remote, and will require all applicants (at a minimum) to have/provide:
Reliable Transportation with proof of current auto insurance and auto registration
Three (3) year Official Driving Record, A Valid Driver’s License, and Social Security Card
Current South Carolina CPSS or CPRS Certificate or be able to be trained as a CPSS (Cost of Training Would Be Covered by SC SHARE)
Proof you are a current resident of the County you are applying to serve in for at least six (6) months.
Strong Computer Skills and working knowledge of Word, PDF, Excel, Zoom, and PowerPoint
Strong Communication Skills both Oral and Written
Strong Self-Regulation and Independent Working Skills
