Job Title: Construction General Laborer II
OBJECTIVE: The Construction General Laborer will provide essential support throughout various stages of the construction process while assisting with property maintenance and site upkeep. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in the construction industry, allowing individuals to develop skills in material handling, equipment operation, and job site management. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking team player with a strong work ethic, eager to learn and contribute to high-quality projects.
Site & Property Maintenance (40%)
- Mow lawns, trim landscaping, and remove debris to maintain clean and safe project sites.
- Shovel snow and perform seasonal upkeep duties as needed.
Construction Site Assistance (30%)
- Support carpenters, siders, and site superintendents with various tasks.
- Transport and handle materials safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Tool & Material Handling (20%)
- Safely use power tools for measuring, cutting, and basic building tasks.
- Assist in inventory tracking of materials on-site.
Other General Labor Duties (10%)
- Operate lifts occasionally (training provided).
- Support project efficiency with any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Required:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

2 years of commercial and/or residential construction experience

Basic knowledge of building materials and construction processes

Ability to read a tape measure and interpret blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team

Excellent communication skills and a strong attendance record
- Comfortable working at various heights
Preferred:

Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, or aerial lifts
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 80 lbs occasionally

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders

Comfortable working in all climates and at varying heights
Work Environment

Active construction sites with exposure to dust, noise, and power tools

Work in multi-story buildings and outdoor environments year-round
