Job Title: Construction Project Manager II
Objective:
SCS Construction is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager II to oversee and drive the success of our construction projects. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage project timelines, budgets, and communication across teams while ensuring top-tier quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Execution (40%)
- Lead all phases of construction projects from pre-construction to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Monitor job progress, problem-solve in real-time, and implement solutions to maintain efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Budget & Cost Management (25%)
- Develop, manage, and track project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to optimize costs and streamline operations.
- Forecast financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Team Coordination & Communication (20%)
- Collaborate with engineers, superintendents, and other project stakeholders to align on goals and deliverables.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate team meetings, status updates, and project documentation.
- Process Improvement & Quality Control (15%)
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
- Utilize technology and project management tools to improve workflow and documentation accuracy.
Education & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Science, or Engineering required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software.
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a construction project manager.
- 5 years of experience in residential or commercial construction.
- Strong working knowledge of construction processes, contracts, permitting, and project scheduling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with strong time management skills.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in project cost tracking, estimating, bidding, and budgeting.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects.
Preferred:
- Experience with various building types, including multi-family residential.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to sit at a computer desk for long periods.
- Clear speaking and adequate hearing for effective communication in-person and over the phone.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to work 40–45 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with occasional additional hours as needed.
- Site visits and occasional in-state travel are required.
- Must have strong organizational and time management skills, be self-motivated, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Work Environment:
- This position is primarily in a professional office setting, working closely with the Pre-Development Department, Architects, Executive Management, Ownership, and customers.
- Occasional in-state travel to active job sites is required.
