Responsibilities
As a Business Relationship Manager you will:
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage stakeholders and nurture trusting relationships in the development and management of a portfolio of IT investments to automate business processes, derive value through analytics, and provide ongoing support
- Steward a process of ideation – to promote a culture that values listening and exploring ideas from anyone, anywhere, anytime
- Advise on industry trends on technology, innovative uses of analytics, and data-driven opportunities to augment and/or transform business strategy
- Perform demand forecasting, develop business capability assessments and roadmaps with business cases, and provide recommendation on IT investments
- In doing so, drive trade off discussions with business leaders
- Assess, plan and prepare business areas for the change necessary to adopt IT solutions, embed in business processes and yield improved business performance results
- Demonstrate high energy and apply effective communications to engender excitement and promote a culture of analytics – an environment that places high value on using information in real-time to make fact-based decision making as a differentiator and competitive advantage
- Play an active role to help derive meaningful insights from the assessment of analytical models
- Monitor, measure and report on business value; and oversee financial verification
- Provide relentless commitment to communication to all relevant parties in business and all IT organizations, and proactively make connections and leverage interdependencies between people, services, projects, resources, and information
- Timely reaction/resolution to identified systemic IT issues having material affect on company/client operations, in collaboration with other IT teams
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, understanding their needs, challenges, and goals.
- Act as a bridge between business units and IT, ensuring alignment.
- Actively engage with business leaders, understanding their pain points, aspirations, and strategic priorities.
- Foster collaboration, ensuring that IT initiatives align with business needs.
- Strategic Planning:
- Direct IT strategy in support of overall business goals.
- Identify opportunities for technology to drive business value.
- Participate in defining the IT roadmap.
- Participate in the prioritization of projects that align with technology for maximum return on investment.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and is able to drive strategic discussions.
- Shape and ensure alignment of IT initiatives with the overall organizational strategy.
- Value Realization:
- Ensure business value, SLAs and outcomes are achieved through active coordination between areas across IT.
- Track the value delivered by IT initiatives, ensuring they align with business objectives.
- Assess whether the expected benefits are being realized.
- If not, work to address any gaps
- Initiative improvement efforts
- Risk Management:
- Assess risks related to technology investments and propose mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate risks associated with technology investments.
- Actively advocate for the business within IT initiative, changes, projects and other activities to minimize risk or negative impact on the business.
- Propose risk mitigation strategies aiming to minimize negative impacts on the business.
- Communication:
- Translate technical jargon into business language and vice versa.
- Ensure clear communication between IT and business stakeholders.
- Able to communicate and participate in Facility CEO/BOM/Sr. Director/VP level conversations within IT and business meetings and forums.
- Verbal, written and ability to craft summary presentations to enable understanding and action.
- 10 years of relevant functional experience
- 10 years of IT experience
- 5 years of experience championing organizational change, e.g., leading initiatives, products, services, or interactions
- Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP®) preferred
- Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM®) with Certificates of Experience preferred
- Master of Business Relationship Management (MBRM®) preferred
Salary : $120,000 - $135,000
