Summary:
The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy operations staff. This position is involved with working with the Quality Department on related decisions based on pharmacy events.
Essential functions:
- Manages and directs the employees and functions of the pharmacy.
- Works alongside Procurement Director for ingredient sourcing and labor estimates and internal/external labs for required testing as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable corporate and regulatory Standard Operating Procedures, cGMP, and safety guidelines, working with site Quality Director.
- Ensures all personnel receive necessary and appropriate training for their job function.
- Effectively manages employee relations including hiring, discipline, rewards and recognition, and effective human capital resources allocation in all matters within the pharmacy.
- Participates and represents SCA Pharma in Regulatory audits and inquiries.
- Develop and achieve annual budget for Pharmacy.
- Oversee coordination with other departments on development and maintenance regarding pharmacy and cleanroom areas.
- Meet the expected throughput and financial goals of the organization.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Active Pharmacist License in home state (AR or CT)
- 8 years of progressively increasing managerial experience in a pharmacy, preferably in a sterile and/or aseptic manufacturing environment
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use ERP systems, etc.
- Ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply technical writing skills and instructions.
