POSITION TITLE: Hoist Yard Lead
REPORTS TO: Hoist Shop & Technician Manager

Created in 1998, Scaffold Resource has grown in its ability to provide a vast array of vertical access services. It has successfully accomplished this task while expanding its customer base and project capabilities to meet the demands of every conceivable challenge it has been contracted to complete.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
This position reports to the Hoist Shop & Technician Manager and is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the hoist yard, managing material and equipment, and assisting with the logistics of the company’s fleet of vehicles and machinery. The Hoist Yard Lead works to optimize fleet usage, reduce operational costs, and ensure timely delivery of hoisting materials and equipment to job sites. This is a dayshift position. Weekends are required as needed based on volume. Typical hours are 7:00AM-3:30PM. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead, supervise, and schedule all hoist yard personnel.
- Oversee the preparation, loading, and unloading of hoist equipment and components.
- Coordinate with field supervisors and project managers to schedule and prioritize equipment staging and deliveries.
- Ensure all equipment is inspected, cleaned, and ready for deployment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of hoist equipment, parts, and tools.
- Enforce safety procedures and conduct regular yard safety checks.
- Train new yard employees on procedures, equipment handling, and safety practices.
- Monitor equipment returns for damage or missing parts and report accordingly.
- Work closely with mechanics for hoist maintenance scheduling and inspections.
- Operate forklifts, lifts, and other yard equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with logistics, field teams, and upper management.
- Schedule and ensure that adequate material and equipment are available for each shift, including emergency requests.
- Monitor the progress of the work and adjust schedules and resources as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
- Manage work order documentation and ensure all necessary reports are completed accurately.
- Report any delays, obstacles, or issues to the supervisor, offering solutions and alternatives when necessary.
- Maintain daily shift logs and ensure all relevant paperwork (time sheets, equipment logs, safety checks) are completed accurately.
- Track and report on equipment usage and resource allocation using scaffold management software.
- Assist with inventory management and procurement of hoisting materials.
- Ensure the fleet is equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to support hoist projects, including cranes, trucks, and lifting devices.
- Adhere to and enforce all safety regulations at the yard facility.
- Oversee snow removal operations at the facility to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Provide support to field managers and foremen as needed.
- Support training initiatives at the facility.
- Assist various departments, including Safety, Fabrication, Shipping, Sales, and Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Scaffolding, shoring, and hoisting experience is a plus but not necessary.
- Proficient in the use of computers, excel, email, and other job-related software and technology.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if required.
- Ability to maintain an active state issued driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work in outdoor environments.
CERTIFICATIONS (PREFERRED OR REQUIRED):
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification, or commitment to achieving.
- Forklift Certification (preferred)
- Rigging Certification (preferred)
- First Aid/CPR (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License
