Job Description

Scaffold Resource has been a fixture and steady force in the Mid-Atlantic region’s scaffold and vertical access industry for more than two decades. Created in 1998, Scaffold Resource has grown in its ability to provide a vast array of vertical access services. It has successfully accomplished this task while expanding its customer base and project capabilities to meet the demands of every conceivable challenge it has been contracted to complete.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

This position reports to the Director of Operations and manages the field installation, modifications, and removal on all scaffolding, shoring, or specialty fabricated and engineered installations. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct project planning and coordinating with different departments which include foremen, safety, customers, sales representatives, engineering, fabrication shop, hoist yard, shipping and receiving.
  • Promote and maintain a safety-first culture by identifying potential risks, implementing proactive safety measures, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Provide daily support and monitor field crews to ensure the company’s goals for safety, efficiency, productivity, and quality control are met.
  • Manage pre-job planning, which requires a review of each project drawing for constructability, pre-job visits, coordination with customers, review and approval of pre-job material and equipment, pre-job field verification and coordination with shoring yard and fabrication shop, pre-job work plan, material handling plan, Jobsite Hazard Analysis (JHA’s), and safety plan submittals.
  • Attend weekly and monthly Field Manager meetings.
  • Maintain communication with customers throughout project lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Meet with foremen and crews at the start of each new job to communicate pre-job planning.
  • Communicate daily with the Scheduling department to meet labor and schedule requirements.
  • Review and approve labor hours in the internal timekeeping software.
  • Track all Time & Material work change orders and communicate those changes to project teams.
  • Complete safety audit reports.
  • Oversee and support the foremen and crews on an average of five (5) active jobs daily, while enforcing compliance with company policies.
  • Identify scope creep on jobs and report any delays or additional scope changes to the appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to foreman and field members.
  • Assist with the training and development of foremen and field members.
  • Collaborate with the training team to help identify skills gaps and deliver on-the-job trainings.

  • Proficiency in verbal and written English required.

  • High level communication and problem-solving skills; Willingness to research and probe multiple sources (i.e., emails, logs, calling different departments directly) to get necessary information.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with the ability to meet required deadlines.

  • Ensure strong managerial, motivational, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Coaching, management, and leadership skills; Willingness to enhance the skills and performance of foremen and field members.

SUPERVISION/MANAGEMENT:

This is a full-time position and is supervisory in nature. This position on average has five (5) direct reports at any given time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree or certificate in Project/Construction Management, or related field a plus.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in scaffolding, shoring, or related field in the construction industry.
  • Must be able to obtain high level security clearance for entry to secure facilities.
  • Experience developing safety plans and the ability to interpret drawings and plans to create work plans, material lists, and other documentation for internal and external communication.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, smart phones and tablets for audits, safety reports, email, and other job-related software and technology.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification.
  • Commitment to learning Incident Investigation and Reasonable Suspicion.
  • First Aid and CPR certified, or willingness to become certified.
  • This is a full-time position, which can include night and weekend work.
  • Ability to maintain an active state issued driver’s license.

JOB DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent climbing of ladders and stairs.
  • Tolerance for working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Occasional crouching, bending, and kneeling as needed.
  • Capacity to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel out of town as project needs demand.
  • Willingness and ability to drive within a 60-mile radius of the office as required.
