You will report to our Controller and work a hybrid schedule from either our Head Office in Ridgewood, NJ or our new office in NYC.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Perform daily accounting functions: perform monthly bank reconciliation, monthly closing procedures: amortization, fixed asset, and accrual schedules, etc
- Regularly collaborate with the front office and other departments across the business to provide reporting and tax guidance, while ensuring appropriate financial accounting
- Participate in the internal/external audit process with a specific focus on collecting key financial, accounting, and inventory control data
- Support management in completing special projects and other ad hoc tasks
- Identify opportunities for process improvements or automation
- 2 years of accounting experience
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Strong understanding or interest in federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Audit experience would be preferred
- FP&A experience would be desirable
- Superior data analysis skills using Excel to an advanced level
- Experience in working with accounting software and databases, NetSuite would be preferred
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability and motivation to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, PE-backed business
- Possess a high degree of accountability, excels at taking ownership and responsibility for your workload
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
