What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategy & Reporting Analyst position at Scale Microgrids?
The Role
We seek a Strategy & Reporting Analyst to support cross-functional executive-level reporting and strategy. You will thrive in this role if you have a big-picture perspective while identifying the critical details, enjoy crafting compelling narratives from data, and reimagining better ways to approach challenges. You will report to our Senior Director of Strategy, and be based in our New York City office (Union Square area).
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop, refine, and automate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Board & Executive Reporting: Assist in the preparation of Board materials, executive presentations, and other high-level reports to support decision-making.
- Corporate Strategy Support: Assist in company-wide strategy development and implementation, ongoing reporting/monitoring, and internal stakeholder engagement. Translate complex data into clear, concise, and visually compelling reports for senior leadership.
- Tool Optimization: Partner with teams across the company to develop automated dashboards to better and more easily track business performance.
- Research & Insights: Conduct competitive and market research to inform strategic decision-making and business growth opportunities.
- Project & Initiative Management: Help maintain project plans for key company cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timelines and responsibilities are clear and that there’s ongoing accountability and reporting.
- Additional duties as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s Degree or MBA preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- 2 years of experience in data analysis, corporate strategy, investment management, management consulting, investment banking, or comparable experience
- Experience in energy/climate is preferred but not required
- Highly skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with HubSpot, Asana and/or PowerBI preferred but not required
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis capabilities
- Skilled at effectively communicating important business insights to senior leadership, both verbally and through business presentations
- Self-starter who works strategically and efficiently, able to operate autonomously
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects effectively and keep them on track
- Meticulous in work quality and detail-oriented
