Applications Engineer/Technical Marketing Engineer
Location: Milpitas, CA (On-Site)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative and knowledgeable applications engineer or technical marketing engineer to contribute to our expanding team. This role will focus on generating technical content to demonstrate the benefits of ScaleFlux products for real-world deployments.
This includes conducting standard benchmark testing and collaborating with internal teams, partners, and customers to design and execute experiments that connect product features with business outcomes in production environments.
These experiments will lead to the generation of technical whitepapers, application notes, demos, explainer videos, blogs, and other collateral to educate target customers, generate leads, position ScaleFlux products, and promote the company brand.
This is a hands-on role, requiring hardware setup, system configuration, and testing execution. It is an on-site position at the ScaleFlux headquarters in Milpitas, CA.
You may also participate in industry standards organizations as we continue to drive innovation across the storage technology landscape.
Travel is not expected to exceed 10%.
Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders and customers to define, execute, and document experiments highlighting product benefits.
- Ensure rigorous validation of results and clear documentation of testing procedures, hypotheses, and outcomes.
- Create demonstrations showcasing ScaleFlux technology in marketing materials, tradeshows, and events.
- Produce and present technical collateral such as white papers and application notes.
- Represent ScaleFlux at industry events and working groups.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of full-time employment in enterprise server and storage infrastructure, AI infrastructure, and/or enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with data center infrastructure or enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Fluent in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of enterprise applications and systems, particularly mission-critical application workloads, databases, analytics, HPC, and AI workloads.
- Experience designing, executing, and documenting technical experiments.
- Prior experience selecting and testing enterprise hardware and/or software.
- Results-driven self-starter, able to work independently to achieve success.
- Experience in C, C , and Python.
- Hands-on experience with popular storage APIs.
