Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of FP&A will be a key partner to the business through supporting the strategic planning, leading the annual budgets and quarterly forecast processes, as well as providing insights to the Executive Leadership Team to make data-driven decisions with more efficiency.
Responsibilities.
- Strategic Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, collaborating with cross-functional leaders to understand key performance drivers and conduct detailed variance analyses.
- Advanced Financial Modeling:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive 3-statement financial model that integrates a robust SaaS revenue model, incorporating essential metrics (e.g., LTV, CAC, payback period, magic number).
- Continuously refine the model to support strategic decision-making and long-term growth initiatives.
- KPI & Performance Management:
- Partner with executives to define, track, and analyze critical SaaS KPIs, ensuring regular reporting and actionable insights for executive leadership, investors, and board members.
- Deliver concise monthly and quarterly variance analyses that translate complex financial data into clear, strategic recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Analytics, RevOps, Sales, and Product teams to enhance SaaS metrics reporting and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Stakeholder Reporting & Presentations:
- Own monthly reporting to the board, banks, and investors, and prepare detailed materials for quarterly board meetings and external stakeholder presentations.
- Financing & M&A Support:
- Provide rigorous long-range financial modeling and due diligence to support debt/equity financing, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Process Automation & Innovation:
- Spearhead improvements in finance reporting by automating reporting packages using tools such as Tableau, Google Sheets, and Excel, driving efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications.
- Educational Background & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA a Plus).
- 8 years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a SaaS environment; PE or VC-backed experience is a plus.
- Technical & Analytical Expertise:
- Deep expertise in building and managing detailed 3-statement financial models from scratch, with a strong focus on SaaS ARR modeling and subscription revenue dynamics.
- Proven ability to incorporate and analyze key SaaS metrics—LTV, CAC, payback, magic number, etc.—to inform strategic planning.
- Advanced Tool Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets, with a track record of automating processes and enhancing financial analysis.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Looker) to create dynamic, real-time reporting dashboards.
- Familiarity with Netsuite (or equivalent ERP) and FP&A tools (e.g., Adaptive Planning) is a plus.
- Strategic & Communication Skills:
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
