Summary
The Backroom Associate assists the store manager with daily requirements of the showroom which include the assembly, movement, placement, and preparation of furniture and accessories for the showroom and customers, and by maintaining the showrooms in multiple ways; such as mounting, patching, and painting.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Wrapping and unpacking furniture and accessories for shipment
- Loading of furniture and accessories in customer vehicles
- Inspect, prep and assemble furniture and accessories with attention to detail
- Moving and placement of furniture on the showroom floor
- Mounting art and accessories, patching and painting showroom walls and display areas
- Assisting with inventory control and processes (transfers, receiving and inventory control) using company software
- Accountable to follow all safety procedures and loss prevention guidelines
- Keep warehouse, showroom, and common areas clean
- Permanent or temporary duties as assigned by supervisor
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Prior experience in warehouse/loading environment preferred
- Previous furniture assembly experience preferred
- High School education or equivalent
- Computer skills to use company specific software and scanning equipment
- Professional and friendly communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team and be reliable and punctual
