CHILL COACH
The Creating Hope, Instilling Life Lesson's (CHILL) Coach will provide case management services to tenants to help them overcome barriers to self-sufficiency and independence. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Mentor and role model for tenants.
- Help to empower tenants to problem-solve their situations and find a way to solve them.
- Implement a schedule of activities to engage the tenants to promote positive social interactions with other tenants and community.
- Use a solutions-focused approach to assist in crisis and other life events and offer support and growth opportunities for tenants.
- Promote and build leadership skills and self-sufficiency, as well as a sense of community among fellow
- tenants.
- Provide tenants with tools necessary to improve their lives through educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
- Provide tenants with access to mental health care and health insurance.
- Increase tenants’ knowledge of and access to community supportive services.
- Engage tenants in a positive manner when addressing issues. Take care of issues on the spot when possible.
- Follow up with written incident reports to Supervisor. Email Supervisor when necessary to call attention to certain incidents.
- Coordinate services as part of a team
- Link tenants to community services and referrals
- Have knowledge of public assistance programs, eligibility requirements, and benefits
- Assist tenant in the completion of goals
- Provide case coordination and monitoring of services
- Complete case notes on face-to-face interactions and tenant’s progress.
- Complete the following with tenants: Individual Development Plan, Casey Life Skills, Adverse Childhood Experience and Release of Information. Document information on each tenant.
- Ensure confidentiality with all tenants
- General cleaning of the lobbies, kitchen, and office.
- Lock all offices, conference rooms, fitness, kitchen, and maintenance rooms, as well as upstairs and
- downstairs bathrooms before leaving.
- Host tenant events during shift to engage tenants in constructive activities. Provide sign-in sheet for all events for reporting purposes. File sign in sheets.
- Provide support to tenants for minor health issues that would not require emergency care.
- Provide support to tenants for minor emotional issues and minor mental health issues through conversation and referrals.
- Address loud, boisterous noises immediately
- Administer Emergency Evacuation plan for any emergencies
- Performs other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a professional office environment within an apartment complex. This role routinely is in contact with tenants, their children, and the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and listen.
- This is largely a sedentary role. Would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stoop as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, job fair materials and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Work hours are 10 AM - 6 PM
- Workdays are Monday - Friday with some weekends as needed.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in social or human service, or a related field
- OR Case Management certification.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point)
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Good telephone and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and boundaries.
