Scandinavian Designs is a home furnishings destination rooted in our love for modern design and quality craftsmanship. We are looking for a full-time Delivery Driver to work at our busy Lombard, IL location.

What You Will Do

What You Will Do
- Delivers high-quality products via large delivery truck to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
- Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the entire delivery process including loading and unloading of merchandise.
- Requires driving long distance which may require overnight stays 1-2 times per week (Per Diem provided when applicable)
- Reviews and verifies invoices and purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
- Contacts customers to confirm delivery details via phone, email, and text.
- Maintains accurate delivery logs and records, follows all company safety and accident.
- Safely deliver merchandise in perfect condition to our customer’s homes, providing friendly, courteous, and efficient furniture assembly or repairs.
- Remove all packing materials and debris for return to store location.
- Maintain an accurate inventory to ensure expedient movement of merchandise.
- Perform light assembly, affix tickets, and properly prepare and place merchandise for the store displays.
- Locate, load and unload merchandise into customers’ cars and delivery trucks in a safe and professional manner.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance within the working environment including all equipment and tools.
- Inspect products upon receipt, following all policies and guidelines.
- Greet clients and answer phones in a prompt, professional and polite manner.
- Obtain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of our products.
- Assist with showroom changes, tagging merchandise and help maintain displays and a clean and orderly showroom and backroom.
- Class C (non-CDL) is required.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Who You Are
MUST:
- Have a valid state issued driver’s license.
- Submit to the following prior to employment:
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Physical screening and obtain and DOT Medical Card
- Background check
- Motor vehicle record check
- Class C (non-CDL) is REQUIRED for this position.
- Able to lift a min. of 75 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
- 1-3 years successful work experience, preferably in a warehouse environment.
- Good communication skills and can read invoices, use computer terminals to look up information.
- Use a hand truck, understand assemblies, and correctly operate small power tools.
- Obtaining forklift certification is required at some of our facilities.
- Driver’s must be 21 years or older.
- This position will be subject to random and post-accident drug screening.
