Warehouse Lead Delivery Driver- Phoenix CO
Location: 12801 North Tatum Blvd Phoenix AZ 85032
Position: Hourly / Non-exempt
Schedule: Fixed Schedule with two days off!
Wage: Starting at $24 / hour!
The Lead Delivery Driver's primary responsibilities involve communication with drivers in a collaborative and interactive way in a positive, effective manner including providing mentoring, as necessary. These responsibilities include driver training, monitoring and overseeing safety and compliance rules of the Department of Transportation and our company's policy. This role is both a communication focused and supportive to driver routes as a substitute when needed. This position is scheduled for Wednesday to Sunday at our location in Phoenix, AZ.
What You Will Do
- Provide oversight and mentoring functions for drivers by performing all the duties as requested
- Help to demonstrate safety and compliance rules by clear demonstrations of following company policy.
- Available to answer driver questions if the transportation team is not available.
- Will approach the driver for hands-on training if requested or if recognized.
- Contact Manager of the fleet operations if any concerns arise concerning another driver.
- Perform a drive test for other drivers.
- Should be available to answer after hour calls when needed.
- Have a strong understanding of compliance and DOT rules and regulations.
- Lead Drivers serve as a substitute driver as needed and observe safe lifting methods.
- Follow all company safety and accident procedures on premises or operating company vehicles or equipment.
- Provide friendly service with clients and support the warehouse team if needed.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Who You Are and Must Have
- Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills with basic math, computer and POS skills.
- Able to lift 75 lbs., unassisted, moving furniture in showroom, warehouse and on deliveries when necessary.
- Capable of successfully completing our pre-employment background, physical and drug screening.
- A wholehearted customer service approach with a professional and welcoming presentation.
- Have a valid state driver's license.
- Be 21 years or older.
- Submit to the following prior to employment:
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Physical screening and obtain and DOT Medical Card
- Background check
- Motor vehicle record check
- Be subject to random and post-accident drug screening
- Continuous standing, lifting, bending and twisting
- Comfortable at heights up to 25’
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED, 2 years' work experience in driving is a plus..

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Read and understand assemblies, instructions, shipping and receiving paperwork. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, label printers, adding machines, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Regular standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping.
- Exposure to external weather, head and cold.
- Exposure to noise and moving machinery.
- Some office settings using standard office equipment, seated at computer, keyboard, monitor and phone.
- Working hours will include weekends and holidays and will require flexibility.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work and travel to other locations.
- Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check.
