The Mechanical Drafter and Design Intern is part of the Research and Development / Continuation Engineering team at Scanlan International. They will work on project teams to develop new and support current surgical instruments. This will involve creating and revising computer three dimensional models and drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. They may also perform product evaluations, root cause analysis, research solution, design testing fixtures, verification and validation testing and preparing design control documentation.

Prepare / revise drawings for SII, McLean using AutoCAD LT 2021 and SolidWorks :
- Prepare new and revise existing detailed drawings and solid models of devices, prototypes and fixtures to document specifications for engineering, production and quality control as requested.
- Prepare / Review prototype and test fixture drawings as requested.
- Provide accurate and timely drawings for approval.
- Author Document Change Request (DCR) documents
- Convert AutoCAD 2D drawing into SolidWorks 3D models and create the detailed drawings based on the model
