SCARS of Newport Beach is currently seeking a highly experienced Lead Surgical Technologist to join our team at the Reconstructive Surgery Center, a premier multi-specialty facility serving the greater Orange County area. Our center specializes in facial and body reconstruction, orthopedics, ENT, and cosmetic procedures.

Position Summary:
The Lead Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in guiding the surgical tech team while assisting in operative procedures and ensuring a safe, sterile environment. This individual supports pre- and post-operative functions, leads supply and equipment coordination, and contributes to surgery suite cleanliness and readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation of surgical suites, including pulling and setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Assist in instrument processing: pre-cleaning, sterilization, and packaging verification
- Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures
- Ensure functionality of equipment and support surgical teams as needed
- Participate in patient care activities, including transfers and room turnover
- Support ordering, inventory management, staff scheduling, and accreditation compliance
- Uphold infection control standards and safety protocols
- Serve as a point person for surgical tech staff, helping train and guide newer team members
Skills & Qualifications:
- Leadership and team coordination skills
- Strong time management and communication abilities
- Detailed knowledge of surgical procedures, human anatomy, and sterile techniques
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced surgical setting
- Ability to correlate clinical data with patient conditions
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist (required)
- BLS Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
- Experience with ordering, supply chain oversight, accreditation, and staff scheduling
- Leadership experience in a surgical setting
- Interest in long-term growth, including potential to become Surgery Center Manager
