Overview
Inventory Control Specialist, oversees the ordering, storing, receiving, work order and service ticket fulfillment and shipping processes. The main responsibilities of this position includes oversight of the flow of supplies and equipment, shipping and tracking, and analyzing inventory levels, maintaining min/max levels ensuring equipment availability and developing process and protocols for loss mitigation.
Responsibilities
· Supervise, oversee and plan all activities that relate to inventory control
· Working and collaborating across department units to ensure work completion
· Responsible for physically managing all inventory for the company, physically as well as in the inventory system
· Ensure all inventory records are current and up to date
· Supervise and plan all activities related to inventory control in the warehouse.
· Ensure all items are appropriately received, inventoried, recorded (in the system) and securely stored.
· Maintain accurate min/max levels for all items in the warehouse
· Provide weekly/monthly inventory reports of equipment issues and received
· On going evaluation of the shipping process to improve efficiency
· Verify and record the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
· Perform routine cycle counting of warehouse inventory
· Manage all RMA’s, defective parts, inbound and outbound and ensure accurate tracking
· Generate PO’s and place orders with vendors and arrange drop shipments
· Maintain and update vendor part numbers, descriptions, cost in the inventory system
· Interact with vendors to ensure orders are shipped, received and properly are scheduled
· Ensure the inventory remains sufficient and place orders when needed
· Responsible for truck stock program
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Basic Fundamentals of Accounting (Required)
- Strong organizational skills needed to take charge of organizing inventory and improving the efficiency and accuracy of selection and shipping process
- The ability to manage multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial when interacting with vendors, employees and developing new inventory processes
- Problem solving and decision-making using leadership and time management skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethics and strict attention to detail
- 1-3 years’ experience in a retail warehouse environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing direct, indirect employees, as well as sub-contractors
