The Scattergood Foundation organizes our work in three main areas:

  • THINK: We curate thought leadership from leading experts in the areas of behavioral health, philanthropy, advocacy, and policy. The Foundation provides a platform for individuals and organizations to present disruptive ideas and theories which challenge the status quo in behavioral health.
  • DO: We provide a variety of technical assistance and consulting services to grantees and partners. Foundation staff shares their experience and expertise to build capacity within organizations to meet their goals and deliver on their mission.
  • SUPPORT: We support programs financially through four mechanisms: our grant portfolio, participatory funds (Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness, Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund, Kensington Community Resilience Fund) and program related investments.


Summary:

This role at the Scattergood Foundation manages administrative and operations needs including coordinating programmatic and event logistics across all areas of our work. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver, and organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by senior management and the board of directors.
  • Direct administrative and support services for all THINK, DO, and SUPPORT Programs.
  • Coordinate events and meetings including the management of all logistics.
  • Work in collaboration with the accountant to prepare, maintain, and organize records such as expense processing and reports, donation/gift acknowledgements, and bank statements.
  • Promote the Foundation’s publications, services, or programs by implementing the content editorial calendar to manage wide-spread distribution via website, newsletters, and social media.
  • Facilitate grantmaking processes in the Foundation’s Foundant Online Grant Portal.
  • Support due diligence and compliance activities required for grantmaking.
  • Represent the organization in external relations by answering questions and requests both by phone, email, Contact Us form.
  • Prepare and maintain documents such as letters, manuals, press releases, memoranda, etc.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Hours of Work Location:

The position will be a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week during normal business hours. The Foundation currently works remotely on Mondays and Fridays, and in-office Tuesday-Thursday. There will be a requirement from time to time to start work earlier or finish later, or to be in office on Mondays and Fridays as the role dictates.


Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$55,000 and is commensurate with lived and professional experience. Educational requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience required.


Experience/skills requirements:

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Sharepoint

• Experience with Foundant, Wordpress, BILL.com, GoogleSuite, Mailchimp, Zoom, and Linked-in preferred

• Ability to adapt to and use new software and equipment

• Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in multi-tasking and prioritizing

• Strong organizational skills

• Strong strategic thinking skills

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with partners, grantees, and vendors

• Ability to work with program and research data

• Ability to work in a fast paced and highly intellectual environment

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25

Work Environment:

The work environment is cubicles and offices within Mental Health Partnerships at 833 Chestnut Street, 11th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Meetings often take place in small conference rooms and trainings in a classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
