Production Associate

SCD Probiotics is looking for a Production Associate. The Production Associate is responsible for the safe, efficient, and sanitary operation and preventative maintenance of SCD’s batch fermentation processing and probiotic bottling fulfillment operation. This includes but is not limited to monitoring, utilizing, documenting, and handling of raw materials, materials for packaging, and finished products. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

· Operate, monitor, and control plant batch fermentation processing following the SOP’s which includes but is not limited to documenting production, anticipating, and notifying problems if any in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

· Stage the IBC’s on receipt of an order for the QA/QC checks and then load and unload the containers when required.

· Ensure that the workplace is clean and organized.

· To operate the bottling line and examine bottles to ascertain that labels and lot codes stamps are applied correctly.

· Organize the IBC’s and drums and raw materials in the warehouse and the production floor following the SOP’s especially for the temperature control storage.

· Assist with fulfilment or pick and pack of the daily orders when necessary.

Skills/Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED required. Technical School Degree and related College undergraduate coursework preferred.

· Certified forklift operator.

· 2 to 3 years of experience in food manufacturing operations, continuous process operations, batch process operations, or similar manufacturing.

· Excellent mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills and aptitude.

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings including P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), process flow diagrams and flow charts.

Equipment Used:

• Computer, Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, Computer Software Programs, Telephone, Copier, two-way radios, fax, and other written or electronic resources.
• Screwdriver, hammer, pliers, wrenches, shovels, rakes, hoes, scrapers, water hoses, pipe wrenches and many other hand tools.
• Field Equipment: Flashlight, non-glass inspection mirrors, sampling devices, tachometers, hydrometers, temperature gauges, vibration analysis equipment, PPE, tape measure, etc.
• Experienced and certified to operate forklift trucks, scissor lifts, JLG lifts and other related material handling equipment.

Typical Mental/Physical Demands:

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, moving equipment, must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work at elevations of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, work in confined spaces.
• The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 or more pounds.
• Sit for more than two hours; and stand, climb, kneel, and walk in excess of eight hours
