Our solution is offered to patients with infectious and chronic diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis C, opioid addiction/substance abuse, diabetes, asthma, and mental health. We partner with Johns Hopkins and other academic medical centers and adherence experts across the country to develop and validate our tech-enabled solution.

About You

In this brand new role for us, you will report to the Associate Director, Health Informatics, and work closely with our Product & Engineering teams, Patient Solutions, and our Sales and Marketing teams, to build out our most complex health metric reporting and data processes. As someone with specific experience working with Payer and medication data, and comfort in Python with data analytics, you will be at the intersection of healthcare and data. This is a hands-on full-stack data science role with a combination of SQL/Python programming, machine learning, statistical analysis, experiment design, business strategy, and stakeholder management experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and other customized solutions using Python to solve complex business problems across the broader team
  • Write testable and production-level code and ship the code into production
  • Process data from multiple sources via big data platforms
  • Enhance existing data pipelines by exploring data sources and engineering new features
  • Improve the statistical methodology backing our experimentation platform
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Provide technical and engineering support and expertise to the broader team

Experience & Skills:

Required

  • Masters or post-graduate degree (PhD, DrPH, PharmD) in Health Economics, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, Public Health, Epidemiology, Pharmacy Administration, or other relevant discipline, with some experience in coding and developing analytical datasets and conducting statistical analysis
  • 1 years of experience in Python with exposure to data structures and algorithms and comfort with implementing Python solutions
  • 1 years of experience working with SQL
  • Experience with any of claims (IBM marketscan, OPTUM, Premier etc.) or EMR databases (THIN)
  • Work experience with large US insurance claims databases, electronic medical records, registry databases for health outcomes research (e.g., Optum, Premier, IBM-marketscan, Humedica, IMSPharmetrics , GEhealth, Flatiron, etc.)
  • Experience working with medical and billing coding systems such as ICD-10, SNOMED, LOINC, NDC, HCPCS, CPT
  • Must be able to meet timelines with minimal supervision, and have excellent verbal and written skills
  • Solid ability to translate statistical information

Preferred

  • Has worked in a development environment with a shared repo and contributed code (Github, Bitbucket, Gitlab)
  • Fast-paced startup experience 
  • Experience in healthcare, specifically with Payer data
  • Documentation, best practices
