Machine Operator

Scenic Fruit Company, a family owned company is the oldest berry processor in the Northwest. We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our team. The Machine Operator is responsible for the proper setup of packaging equipment and process system for efficient operation. The Machine Operator is responsible in ensuring Production Leads successfully complete their daily tasks and will provide and guidance and coaching to the Production Leads and Production Crew as necessary. The Machine Operator monitors and operates continuous packaging equipment while ensuring food safety and quality is met.

This position will typically work 40 hours per week (four 10hour shifts) with the possibility of overtime during our harvest season.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a machine operator in a food manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

· Proficient in Company machine equipment set-up to ensure safety of employees and product specifications are met

· Operate and maintain processing machines that includes a production line

· Report any machine failures, malfunctions or issues to maintenance in a timely fashion

· Responsible for required computer entries for inventory and change in lot numbers

· Perform quality checks to ensure integrity and package quality

· May perform nominal maintenance on equipment

· Ensure food safety and quality protocols are followed

· Ensure all Safety and GMP regulations are followed at all times

· Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

· In the absence of Production Lead, may perform Lead responsibilities and tasks

· General housekeeping and upkeep of working area

· Must have open availability to work a flexible schedule when production requires including; ability to work entire shift, extended shift hours, weekends, holidays, and required overtime in accordance with Oregon State laws.

· Other duties as assigned.

Must be willing to undergo a drug screen.

Position starts off at $24/hour or more depending on experience!
