Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Conductor to join our tourist rail line team. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our trains while providing exceptional customer service to our passengers. This role requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assembles the train and conducts brake tests to ensure safety and readiness for the day's operations.
- Operates track switches, performs basic mechanical inspections, and conducts minor repairs on train cars.
- Responsible for safe operation of the train and reporting any condition that affects the movement of the train to proper authorities.
- Ensures train is ready to depart and all tasks are completed at shifts end.
- Handle complaints and resolve issues efficiently, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and empathy.
- Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor, even in challenging situations, to enhance customer satisfaction and experience.
- Compliance with GSMR procedures, safety and operating rules.
- Work with other departments as part of a team to provide passengers with positive memories.
- Complete and scan all required documents to the appropriate personnel by the end of the shift.
- Other duties as requested.
Requirements
Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:
- Previously certified as a Conductor, must provide proper documentation.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to be on your feet for up to 12 hours.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to ascend/descend train steps/ladders and crawl on, under and around locomotive and passenger cars while performing needed maintenance functions.
- Good balance/equilibrium: walk on moving trains, graveled, uneven and/or sloped surfaces that may be wet/slippery while carrying lantern and flashlight.
- Must possess organizational skills with ability to multi-task while prioritizing workload with practical, flexible and innovative approach to work.
- Ability to communicate successfully with a variety of personalities and function effectively as a member of a team.
- Pre-employment & Random drug testing program in compliance with FRA and company policy.
- Must be able to take & Pass GCOR Rules Test.
- Must pass pre-employment WorkSteps/Fit for Duty physical evaluation.
- Valid driver's license required, with regular DMV checks as per company policy.
Work Environment:
- Varied schedule throughout the year dictated by train schedule including but not limited to weekends, holidays and rotating shifts.
- Work on and off the train in varied terrain in all weather during both daylight and dark hours.
- Engage with customers and the public in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly.
Salary : $18 - $25
