Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the manufacturing facility. Included are tasks like loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring materials are delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner, utilizing equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety guidelines. The Material Handler must work to ensure smooth and consistent operation to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

Required:

Position Summary

Duties and Responsibilities
- Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Scepter policies and OSHA standards
- Ensures all machines are running the proper resins and additives as outlined in the BOM
- Ensure all material transfers are performed properly and accurately
- Checks WO to ensure correct material is used at each workstation.
- Responsible for the removal of all trash and scrap bins from Production Stations.
- Responsible for stocking Production lines to required levels.
- Transfer finished goods to proper locations
- Movement of WIP/Scrap to proper secondary processing locations
- Responsible for accurate weights of scrap, re-ground and pelletized product
- Responsible for accurate daily finished good, WIP and raw material inventory counts
- Responsible for the proper labeling of materials with necessary product information
- Conduct break relief to production associates when required
- Effectively communicate (verbal, written, etc.) material status between shifts
- Other duties as assigned
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Fork-lift certification required or must obtain if selected for position
- Six months of related experience and/or training
- Basic Math Skills (Add/Subtract/Multiply/Divide)
- Ability to communicate in a positive and clear way
- One plus year of related experience and/or training
- Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing experience
