Job Summary : The Development Manager has duties in event management, committee and program oversight, marketing and communications that support the stewardship and fundraising efforts of the Foundation. With a membership of over 10,000 junior golfers, you’ll work alongside our development team to support fundraising initiatives that drive our programs forward. Daily responsibilities will include managing the Development Intern, scholarship program management, special event management, donor communications, and various fundraising initiatives.
What You’ll Do : Development :
Lead and manage all logistics for special event fundraising, including committee management, sponsorships, and fundraising activations. Oversee the Development Coordinator in coordinating venues, supporting day-of activities, and managing post-event follow-up.Manage the Post-Secondary Scholarship Program and committee, overseeing the application and award processes. Work with the Development Coordinator to plan and execute the annual scholarship reception and banquet.Drive SCGA Junior Alumni engagement, including data segmentation and quarterly communications to ensure consistent connection and support.Lead the creation and execution of mailed fundraising efforts, managing content, printing, mailing, and follow-up appeals. Support other mailed appeal efforts by overseeing content development, data segmentation, and reporting.Oversee the Long Drive fundraising initiative and committee, coordinating meetings, appeals, quarterly communications, and events.Supervise donor database management, including daily and monthly reporting, donation processing, and developing donor stewardship processes using Salesforce and transaction software.Manage all fundraising logistics, including the creation of registration / campaign pages, coordination of in-kind donations, auction software, raffle registration, and reporting. Provide day-of event support and manage auction and raffle reporting.Prepare, manage, and track event and campaign budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.Build relationships with committee members and event chairs, driving recruitment, growth, and retention. Attend and support all event and fundraising committee meetings to keep members engaged and tasks on track.Represent the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation at donor events and outings, effectively communicating the Foundation’s activities, initiatives, and programs to donors and prospects.Assist with fundraising efforts within the Player Youth and Development (PYD) communities as needed.Management :
Recruits, hires and supervises Development Intern role as well as development contractor relationships.Develops and implements strategic growth and expansion objectives.Implements and manages program modifications to ensure program goals are achieved.Assists in the planning of short- and long-term strategies and objectives.Develops and maintains donor relationships and partnerships for the benefit of the organization.Communications & Marketing :
Supports development and management of content for all SCGA Junior Golf Foundation electronic communications, including numerous newsletters and digital blasts.Assists with the development of communication and marketing materials, including digital content.Supports Comms and Marketing department with planning and executing on-site photo and video shoots.Works with the Communications and Marketing Coordinator on the development and production of the Foundation’s annual impact report, including content creation, gathering data, and working with the graphic designer.Administrative & Programming :
Provides customer service across the entire organization including answering calls and emails and assisting in resolving customer issues with all programming and development areas at the basic level.Supports and assists staff in other activities such as golf outings, community outreach and other new program initiatives.Handles and performs other duties as may be assigned.What You’ll Need :
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college, university, or equivalent experience preferred.Three years of experience in fundraising and a proven record of successful cultivation and solicitation of gifts.Demonstrated experience managing events, including logistics, communication planning, and on-site support.Experience working with volunteers, more specifically in a committee management roleAbility to work with high impact volunteers, board members, ambassadors, and senior level staff.Consistently meets deadlines by prioritizing tasks and ensuring the successful completion of multiple projects.Accurately analyzes and processes diverse information with attention to detail.Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on prompt issue resolution.Experience creating and managing content for newsletters, digital communications, and other electronic media.Proficient in Salesforce or similar CRM software, SurveyMonkey, and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred.Golf experience preferred.The work schedule will be Monday through Thursday, every other Friday (track off scheduling), with occasional evenings and weekends required.
The starting salary for this role is $70K.
