About the Role:
The SCGA’s Communication and Marketing team is seeking an intern to be at the forefront of our communications and content strategy. In this dynamic role, you'll gain hands-on experience by updating our website, contributing creative content, and assisting with newsletters and digital campaigns. You’ll also help manage photo and video projects, engage with SCGA members, and support marketing efforts for major events like the SoCal Golf Hall of Fame. If you’re passionate about media, storytelling, and making an impact in the golf community, this internship offers the perfect blend of creativity and real-world experience.
This part-time internship offers 20 to 30 hours of work per week and is expected to last approximately 7 months. The compensation for the role is $22.00 per hour.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in managing SCGA digital communications by reviewing, proofreading, and contributing to content, including writing stories and digitizing the quarterly print magazine for online publication.
- Update the SCGA website, managing daily homepage content and making sitewide updates.
- Monitor and contribute to digital communications calendars, overseeing newsletters, special events, and digital advertising.
- Handle general member inquiries and manage the Hole-In-One certificate program.
- Support SCGA's photo and video content initiatives by updating libraries and assisting in production efforts.
- Assist with marketing efforts for major events, including the SoCal Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
- Prepare digital reports for SCGA programs, such as SCGA Swing Tips and monthly metrics.
- Provide support for advertising initiatives, including helping with coordination and implementation.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with group presentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with various departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues promptly.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interest and understanding of golf.
