What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Clerk position at Schaefer's Foods?
As a Deli Clerk you will be required to prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads and dessert items for the display case. They will slice meats and cheeses for the case as well as prepare fresh salads for purchase. The deli clerk will prepare and cook lunch entrees and broasted chicken as well as prepare take-and-bake pizzas for customers. Our deli department also has a breakfast and lunch menu each employee will have to learn how to prepare.
It is key that the employee can follow a recipe or detailed instructions for all items we offer to our customers. It is the deli clerk’s responsibility to ensure the cleanliness of the deli case, storage area and work area. We must keep a clean and sanitary department at all times, as well as keep all equipment clean and sanitary.
The deli clerk position is to provide exceptional service and quality products to our customers. Focus and attention to detail are key in this work environment. Deli clerk employees will need to respond to customer inquiries, offer product recommendations and responding to requests professionally.
The ability to work in a fast-paced work environment while still maintaining great customer service is key. The ability to work independently as well as within a large team is also essential.
The position will be offered at either part-time or seasonal full-time status, based on applicant’s availability and restrictions. Working several weekends will be required. The scheduled shifts will be varied.
