Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying and engaging potential clients, building strong relationships, and providing exceptional service to existing customer base. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical knowledge and sales expertise, enabling them to effectively communicate the value of our products and services in the lubricant industry.
Duties
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients through warm calling, and networking with the ability to drive sales.
- Conduct thorough analysis of client needs to tailor solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Track leads, manage customer relationships, and report on sales activities.
- Engage in technical sales discussions to demonstrate product capabilities and advantages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development strategies with company goals.
Required
- The desire and ability to learn the lubricant industry; this includes product specifications, details about competitors’ brands, setting pricing structures, and lubricant packaging basics.
- Grow network through independent research, sales calls, and travel.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex information.
- Computer skills, especially Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work diligently and independently.
- Work out of the St. Louis office.
- Driver's license, with the ability to obtain a passport
- Ability to travel (mileage reimbursed) - day trips and approximately 10% overnight
- B.S. degree, preferably in Business or Physical Science
Preferred Experience
- Five plus years proven experience in business to business sales, particularly in lubricant industry.
- Strong business development skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to inform sales strategies.
- Have manufacturing, liquid packaging, mechanical, or industrial experience.
- Possess a working knowledge of lubricants and lubricant specifications (lubricant industry qualifications such as CLS).
