Objective
To safely operate trucks for the delivery of propane gas to residential and commercial customers in a professional manner.
Essential Functions
- Follow instructions for the pickup, transport and delivery of propane in a safe manner.
- Capable of operating a Bobtail Delivery Truck for propane gas.
- Properly load and unload trucks.
- Assist with service of appliances, tanks, and piping.
- Restart gas appliances and check for gas leaks.
- Assist with pumping out tanks, assist with and perform tank installations and changes.
- Keep a truck driver log, all necessary paperwork of all work performed, physicals when requested and any other legal requirements to drive.
- Keep equipment and vehicles in excellent condition by performing necessary maintenance (fluid levels, etc).
- Check with the Manager/Dispatcher before leaving any location for additional instructions or deliveries.
- Reports problems at the time of the delivery to Foreman.
- Treats customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Report all accidents and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Represents SchagrinGAS Company in a professional and courteous manner.
- Reports directly to the VP of Propane Ops South, may also receive direction from various supervisors.
Schedule Requirements
- Available to work between 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a minimum 1-3 years of propane and/or natural gas handling experience.
- Must have a valid Class B commercial drivers license with HazMat and Tank (X) endorsement.
- Knowledge of how to restart gas appliances and check for gas leaks.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- The environment is inside and outside in all kinds of weather.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the position.
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment many times during the course of the day’s work.
- Capable of operating various power tools.
- Must comply with SchagrinGas drug & alcohol testing policy.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
