Propane Delivery Driver (Union position)- Middletown

This is a Union position, with set salary increases based on contract and daily contributions to Health & Welfare of $78.26 plus daily contributions to pension of $49.68.

Objective

To safely operate trucks for the delivery of propane gas to residential and commercial customers in a professional manner.

Essential Functions

1. Follow instructions for the pickup, transport and delivery of propane in a safe manner.

2. Capable of operating a Bobtail Delivery Truck.

3. General knowledge of how to restart gas appliances and check for gas leaks.

4. Properly load and unload trucks.

5. Assist with service of appliances, tanks, and piping

6. Assist with pumping out tanks, assist with and perform tank installations and changes.

7. Keep a truck driver log, all necessary paperwork of all work performed, physicals when requested and any other legal requirements to drive.

8. Keep equipment and vehicles in excellent condition by performing necessary maintenance. (fluid levels).

9. Check with the Manager/Dispatcher before leaving any location for additional instructions or deliveries. Reports problems at the time of the delivery to Foreman.

10. Treats customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous manner.

11. Must comply with SchagrinGAS drug testing policy.

12. Represents SchagrinGAS Company in a professional and courteous manner.

Other Responsibilities

1. Reports directly to the Middletown Manager.

2. Perform other miscellaneous duties assigned to the position

3. Capable of operating various power tools.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Must have a valid Class B commercial drivers license with HazMat and Tank (X) endorsement.

2. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English

3. Lift up to 50 pounds

4. The environment is inside and outside in all kinds of weather.

5. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the position.

6. Ability to climb in and out of equipment many times during the course of the day’s work.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly is required to sit and stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
