Job Overview
Be part of the exciting world of the arts in a unique venue that hosts live performances, a variety of classes in the arts, and beautiful rental spaces. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Development Director to lead our fundraising and development initiatives. The focus of this full time position is to develop and implement a system of donor cultivation, acquisition, and retention. The Director of Development is responsible for planning and implementing fund development efforts, including individual donor, corporate partner, grant, and fundraising events. Contacts will include written, phone and face to face interaction with donors and sponsors, as well as development of new supporters through community engagement activities. The Director of Development is a primary advocate of the Schauer Center, attending networking activities and community events to engage new patrons and supporters.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop individual donors
  • Maintains and develop corporate show sponsors
  • Ensure that donors receive promised benefits and excellent customer service.
  • Lead the fundraising committee in special fundraising events
  • Promote planned giving and endowment support
  • Complete grant applications and follow up on required grant reporting
  • Manage and maintain a donor database
  • Coordinate outreach activities connected to performances
  • Coordinate participation in community events to build visibility and engagement
  • With the Executive Director, develop an annual budget of income and expenses in Fund Development

Skills

  • Bachelor degree in related field preferred plus 3 years relevant experience in non-profit fund development
  • If no degree, 5 years relevant experience in non-profit fund development
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required, Microsoft Outlook experience preferred
  • Familiarity with donor management software a plus or experience in mastering specialized software programs.
  • Experience in event planning
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects at once
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - comfortable speaking one-on-one or in front of a group

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Salary : $40,000 - $45,000
