Position: After-School Receptionist
Reports To: Camp Director of Schaumburg Christian Day Camp
Employment Type: Seasonal, Part-Time (Summer; June 2 to August 8)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Schaumburg Christian School
The SCDC After-School Receptionist is the first point of contact for parents, guardians, and visitors during the extended care hours of Schaumburg Christian Day Camp. This role requires strong communication, organization, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment. The receptionist ensures a smooth and secure pickup process, answers inquiries, and provides administrative support to the camp staff. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, customer-service focused, and enjoys working in a Christ-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management – Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians during pickup.
- Check-Out & Security – Verify authorized pickups, manage sign-outs, and ensure a safe dismissal process.
- Communication Hub – Answer phone calls, respond to parent inquiries, and relay important messages to staff.
- Organization & Administration – Maintain accurate records, update attendance logs, and assist with paperwork as needed.
- Problem-Solving – Handle parent concerns, student issues, or unexpected situations with professionalism and care.
- Support Camp Staff – Assist leaders with minor tasks to ensure smooth aftercare operations.

Additional Requirements
- Commitment to the Full Summer Schedule (June 2—August 8, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM).
- Previous Experience in Customer Service or Administration (Preferred, but not required).
- Ability to Multi-Task in a fast-paced environment.
- Attendance at training event (Friday, May 30th. This will include CPR/AED training)
- In addition to the in-person training event, you will also be required to complete an online training course and mandated reporter training.
