Job Description: In cooperation with and/or under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist will exercise a high degree of initiative, responsibility and independent action in planning and carrying out programs for students.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Select activities which meet students' needs and interests.
- Utilize and reinforce strengths and skills to maintain and/or improve functions.
- Use group and/or interpersonal skills to facilitate and sustain appropriate participation in an educational setting to effect positive change.
- Maintain records, measures change and development, and contributes observations to be included in evaluation reports and/or progress notes for each student on caseload.
- Assist in administering standard evaluation or screening procedures.
- Assist with identifying learning needs.
- May attend parent conferences/staffings of students on caseload.
- Assist in maintaining orderliness, cleanliness and safety of the treatment area.
- Assist with special projects as directed by the building principal and/or Occupational Therapist.
Requirements: Must be a graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant training program. Must be certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association (COTA) State of Illinois Occupational Therapist License. Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
Salary : $125
