What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Starter/Ranger (part-time/seasonal, $15.00/hour) position at Schaumburg Park District?
ABOUT US: The Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning public agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational facilities, programs, events, parks and open spaces. Schaumburg Park District is home to the Schaumburg Golf Club, a beautifully manicured 27-hole course. The 27-hole course has hosted U.S. Open Qualifying, Illinois State Amateur Qualifying, Illinois Open Qualifying, IPGA Pro-Junior Championship, just to name a few.
JOB SUMMARY: The Starter/Ranger serves as an ambassador for the Schaumburg Golf Club and creates an excellent presentation and provides quality customer services throughout the customer’s round of golf. This person greets and welcomes each player. The Starter/Ranger keeps the first tee on time and maintains appropriate time sequences. Responsibilities include updating tee sheets and keeping all vital information. This individual maintains a neat and orderly presentation at the first tee box. Duties also include understanding the pace of play policy and monitoring play on the golf course while providing updates when necessary to the Rover Ranger. Maintain and update a singles list.
LOCATION: Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 Roselle Rd., Schaumburg
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be at friendly, outgoing, and responsible. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of golf and prior experience working with the public or customer service is helpful.
SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a seasonal position starting April 1, 2025 and ending in November (weather dependent). You can expect to work about 10-25 hours per week. Scheduling will includes various shifts Monday through Sunday. Pay is $15.00 / hour.
