Job Description
As a Middle School Math Teacher, you will:
Design, plan and implement Math lessons that motivate students and create active, phenomena-based learning experiences.
Prepare and implement differentiated instruction, activities and assessments that meet the needs of every student.
Build relationships with all students, so they are actively engaged in the classroom activities
Create and maintain a safe, well-structured physical environment that is conducive to student learning.
Co-plan and monitor curriculum with other math teachers
Participate in ongoing cycles of reflection, both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
As Middle School Math Coordinator, you will
Serve as the resident math expert staying abreast of the most current trends in research and instruction (this may include coordinators own research and writing)
Facilitate weekly co-planning meetings with the math team
Develop scope and sequence documents and modify as needed in consultation with Team Leads, Director of Learning and Teaching and other partners.
Collaborate with Team Leads to offer subject specific support to teachers on the implementation of the curriculum, including instructional strategies and differentiated instruction. This support may include:
Side-by-side coaching with teachers and modeling of lessons in the classroom.
Provide ongoing professional development
Consulting with teachers and learning specialists about students in need of specialized instruction, enrichment and support.
Collaborating with learning specialists on instructional strategies.
Education and Experience
Masters Degree in math-related field required.
Minimum of two years experience teaching students, preferably in a middle school setting.
Exemplary teaching skills.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Pay & Benefits
Competitive salary; commensurate with experience, up to $102,000
