Scheck Hillel Community School, a large Orthodox Jewish community school located in sunny North Miami Beach, Florida is currently accepting resumes for an experienced full time High School Guidance Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year.

Summary

The High School Guidance Counselor will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our High school students by providing essential support for their academic, emotional, and social development. The Guidance Counselor will work closely with students, parents, and faculty to create a positive school environment and help students achieve their personal and educational goals.

As an advocate for students, the High School Guidance counselor will foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that aligns with Scheck Hillel Community School's five core values: Kavod (Respect), Emet (Truth), Shalom (Peace), Ruach (Spirit) and Chessed (Kindness).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual counseling to students to address personal, social, and academic concerns
• Conduct group counseling sessions to encourage peer interaction and support
• Develop and implement comprehensive guidance programs that promote educational achievement and personal growth
• Assist students in academic planning, course selection, and career exploration
• Provide resources and referrals for students needing mental health services or additional support
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create interventions that support student success
• Conduct workshops on topics such as study skills, time management, college readiness, and conflict resolution
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress
• Stay informed about college admission requirements and scholarship opportunities, providing guidance to students and families
• Participate in school-wide events and professional development opportunities
  
  

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field
• Valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor or a related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work with a diverse student population
• Knowledge of academic counseling principles and practices
• Familiarity with mental health resources and crisis intervention techniques
• Strong organizational and time management skills
