Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counseling to students to address personal, social, and academic concerns
- Conduct group counseling sessions to encourage peer interaction and support
- Develop and implement comprehensive guidance programs that promote educational achievement and personal growth
- Assist students in academic planning, course selection, and career exploration
- Provide resources and referrals for students needing mental health services or additional support
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create interventions that support student success
- Conduct workshops on topics such as study skills, time management, college readiness, and conflict resolution
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress
- Stay informed about college admission requirements and scholarship opportunities, providing guidance to students and families
- Participate in school-wide events and professional development opportunities
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse student population
- Knowledge of academic counseling principles and practices
- Familiarity with mental health resources and crisis intervention techniques
- Strong organizational and time management skills
